Zachary V. Zagger

Zachary V. Zagger is Senior Marketing Counsel at Ogletree Deakins, where he leads content strategy and serves as a principal writer for the firm’s blog and digital publications. He has authored hundreds of articles, collaborating closely with firm shareholders, compliance counsel, and other attorneys, and producing breaking client alerts, authoritative analyses, and blog articles on the full spectrum of labor and employment law topics. He also works within the Client Services department to coordinate and produce public- and client-facing firm content, including webinars, articles, podcasts, and graphics.

Zachary has been recognized three consecutive years (2024, 2025, and 2026) as one of JD Supra’s “Top 10 Labor and Employment Authors in the annual Readers’ Choice Awards,” selected from a pool of more than 8,000 authors covering the topic. His work has been republished by some of the most influential outlets in the legal and human resources (HR) industries, including Law360, SHRM, HRMorning, the American Bar Association, and the ABA Journal.

Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Zachary spent nearly a decade as a Senior Reporter at Law360, a leading legal news service owned by LexisNexis with over 3.3 million daily readers, where he covered the sports and regulated sports betting and gaming industries, building deep expertise in translating complex legal developments for professional audiences.

Zachary holds a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he earned a certificate in civil litigation, and a B.A. in journalism, history, and political science from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. He is admitted to the bar in New York and Pennsylvania.

Zachary serves on the Board of Directors of JURIST Legal News & Research Services, Inc., an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law that provides free legal news and information produced by volunteer law students around the world.
